Experience and knowledge

The wider team is proven at all levels of house building with complementary backgrounds from large quoted companies and major contractors to small private developers. This wealth of experience and team approach is critical to delivering exceptional homes.

We are backed by our parent company RO Group, and with access to their systems, research, contact base and ultimately the scale of their balance sheet places us in an advantageous position when competing with businesses of a similar size.

The RO Group

The RO Group is an entrepreneurial family company which has been in business for more than eighty years. Based upon the founding principle that the company is ‘in business to do business’ this simple but direct approach has seen the RO Group thrive over the years through investment in a diverse range of interests, which continues to this day.

The RO Group

Adam co-founded Metis Homes in 2007 with Tony Burton, and has long played a pivotal role in the successful management and growth of the business.

He formerly worked at Linden Homes where, working alongside regional Chairman Tony Burton, he built a strong reputation for his skill in land buying.

Adam was appointed Managing Director of Metis Homes in April 2015 to drive the company forward and develop the Metis Homes brand.

Andrew has overall responsibility for the pre-construction, construction and after-sales activities at Metis Homes. He has extensive experience of property development across the south spanning some 30 years.

He joined Metis Homes in 2012 following a career leading landmark regeneration schemes, in partnership with local authorities, together with challenging new build as well as mixed use and conversion developments.

Andrew SinclairOperations Director

Alistair joined Metis Homes from WYG Consultants, where he held an executive role as Director in Planning for many years. Alistair brings with him over 15 years’ experience as a planning consultant with a diverse background in the industry and ample experience leading teams through the development process.

Alistair works alongside our Managing Director, Adam O’Brien, in driving and overseeing all planning activity and will seek to maintain our unblemished track record in the planning arena.

Rachel is responsible for the smooth running of the office and supporting the Metis Homes team.

Having previously worked in admin roles for Hampshire County Council’s Children’s Services department, and at HM Revenue & Customs, she brings strong skills and a fresh eye to the property business.

David is Metis Homes’ Head of Sales, having joined the company in 2010.

As the company grew, his role evolved and with over 20 years of experience and knowledge of the property industry, having also worked in estate agency, David naturally progressed into a senior role, managing much of the sales operation across the business and working with our marketing team, whilst also being a great ambassador for the business, helping each customer through their journey when buying a Metis Home.

David OakleyHead of Sales

With 39 years’ experience in the construction industry, Bill has recently joined the Metis Team after working in Customer Services with Berkley Homes Southern for the last 8 years. Bill’s remit is to oversee the final inspection and commissioning process in order that our Customers enter their new Homes with little or no defects. With his keen eye for detail and his understanding nature, Bill and his team will guide our Customers throughout the 2 year warranty period.

Mike is responsible for land acquisition at Metis Homes. His fundamental goal is to secure the very best locations for our developments, to ensure that our homes meet our customer’s expectations and needs. He is responsible for securing both our immediate land requirements and for the growth of our strategic land portfolio.

Mike is a Chartered Surveyor with a specialism in Planning and Development. Prior to joining Metis Homes he represented the land function on the regional board of directors at Churchill Retirement and was a development surveyor with Savills.

Sally joined the Metis Team as Advance Sales Manager in November 2019, with her she brings her speciality knowledge in selling off-plan properties.

Having worked in a similar role within Bargate Homes, Linden Homes and Crest Nicholson, Sally has spent over 25 years within the New Homes Industry helping customers buy their dream home.

Jon works alongside Operations Director, Andrew Sinclair, focusing on the delivery of our new schemes. He has over 25 years of experience in construction working for various main contractors and developers and has been involved in the construction of large scale residential and commercial developments as well as luxury retirement villages and care homes.

Farah joined Metis Homes in 2015 as part of the Sales and Marketing team. She is responsible for an array of Marketing related tasks.

With former experience from graduating with a BA Hons degree in Business Management with Marketing and from working within a well-known law firm focusing on the Housing sphere, Farah has a strong understanding of the Real Estate sector.

Jolene supports David as part of the sales team, progressing reservations through to completion, whilst dealing with initial sales enquiries and portal advertising.

This is Jolene’s 19th year of working within the property industry; she brings a wealth of experience to the team from both an estate agency and developer perspective and has proved to be a great ambassador for Metis on each customer’s buying journey.

Jo works alongside Customer Services Manager, Bill Warren, and has a sound foundation in customer focussed roles which include having worked in a similar position for a major housebuilding company. She is committed to offering our customers excellent service and support.

Pete combines over 20 years’ experience as a skilled joiner with a helpful nature to offer after-sales assistance to our customers wherever necessary.

His customer service credentials were honed in his 7 years maintaining the property portfolio of the St John’s Winchester charity.

Richard became Chairman and Chief Executive of the RO Group in 1986. Under his stewardship the group has shown substantial growth.

Edward joined the RO Group in 2007 and is now the Group Managing Director. Since Edward’s appointment the group has expanded into a diverse range of activities.

Richard joined the RO Group as Non-Executive Director in 2012 having just retired from spending over thirty years working for Mansell Construction Services (part of Balfour Beatty plc.). Richard has a wealth of building and construction expertise as well as general commercial experience.
